Chief Executive Officer
Lead the vision, strategy, and growth of the Coalition of Black Small & Medium Enterprises (COBSMEs), empowering Black-owned businesses and creating lasting economic impact throughout Saskatchewan.
Position Summary
The CEO provides strategic leadership and overall direction for the Coalition of Black Small & Medium Enterprises (COBSMEs). They oversee all programs, partnerships, and operations of the Black Empowerment Initiative and ensure alignment with the organization’s mission to empower and sustain Black-owned businesses in Saskatchewan.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership and implement COBSMEs’ strategic and operational plans.
- Represent COBSMEs in high-level meetings, partnerships, and government relations.
- Oversee program implementation, budget management, and organizational growth.
- Lead fundraising and grant development to secure program sustainability.
- Serve as the main signatory for official documents, funding agreements, and contracts.
- Manage financial accountability and ensure compliance with federal and provincial guidelines.
- Support the Board of Directors in governance and policy implementation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Public Administration, or related field.
- 3–5 years of leadership experience in nonprofit, community, or business development sectors.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of grant/funding management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
